Ok, look Electronic Arts, as much as the hardcore gaming community is full of the risible self-parodies known as the "freethinking" - the Richard Dawkins-loving, fundamentalist atheist, "I'm-so-much-smarter-than-you-are-because-I-don't-believe-in-God" types, I doubt that even they would actually be more likely to buy a game because they *think* that their ideological foes (the equally risible Fundamentalist Creationist, anti-Catholic, evangelical "Christians") happen to hate it. Gamers of all varieties will buy this product if its, well, actually a good game. So instead of engaging in a shamelessly anti-Christian stunt to promote your poor excuse of a product, maybe you ought to work on making this game, you know, something better than a blatant God of War rip-off and make it, ya know, something worthwhile?

It's really disgusting how liberals point fingers at Catholics the minute they get upset about anything and say, "chill, haters!" ... but anyone out there can make plays, movies, books, games, you name it, profaning everything Catholics hold sacred... and that's perfectly cool with liberals. Whereas, if someone made a game, book, movie, etc, hating on practically any other group of people (gays, muslims, you name it), or the things they hold dear or believe in, the backlash would be immediate, it would be vehement, and it would be ruthless. (If not taken to the courtrooms and the streets.)
Evidently, the idea of people living their Faith and taking it seriously (albeit without violence) is heinous, but people killing, hating, bashing, or doing anything else they want to Catholics is not only fair game, but praiseworthy and highly appreciated. It's easy to point a finger at Sunday Catholics and talk about what hypocrites they are (the Sunday Catholics, that is), but there is PLENTY of hypocrisy on the other side of the fence. Of course, these are the same people who say abortion is fine because it's so personal a choice, but they'll sit in their armchairs talking about how all the poor in 3rd world countries shouldn't have that oh-so-personal choice to have children or not, just because they're poor. Guess it's not too personal for those other people for liberals to want to foist THEIR (im)morality on others.
The Catholics posting and pointing out garbage like this are the ones that actually believe what they say they do, and at least they're taking what they believe seriously. Unlike liberals who want freedom and peace for everyone but the Catholics to publicly live, talk, act upon and believe in their Faith.
Hypocrisy is an epidemic among non-religious people, too. Most of these responses are the perfect example of it. Chilling out is for the grave. Life is too serious to drift through it like your brain is out to lunch, saying "nothing matters except defending the idea that nothing matters."
Obviously, EA are shamelessly attempting to profit from the stereotype of the anti-entertainment christian. However, their approach was so blunt and obviously fake, that it would perhaps be best to just interpret it as satire, maybe force a little laughter and proceed to ignore it.
This is the kind of campaign that only works when people actually get offended by it, which leads to sharply divided opposing and supporting sides that get in fights and scream at each other, while EA sits back and counts the money they saved in the publicity campaigns that would have been blown with normal advertising. Because their tactics pay off and their games are noticed, they keep on doing it. Like for Dead Space 2 and now Mass Effect 3.
The behaviour of many people on this blog is just as bad as EA's. Would the christian users please stop referring to other christians as their "brothers?" It creeps me out when people call themselves that, mostly because it suggests uniformity, which scares me. Also, it makes you seem like pretentious snobs, who have found their purpose and dismiss non-christians as poor, lost souls who will never understand the greatness of God and are doomed already. [/exaggeration]
And would the non-christians please stop trolling the **** out of this site, insulting christians, believing they are somehow inferior for believing in something beyond science and just learn some restraint instead?
We don't have to like the way other people choose to live, but we sure as **** can restrain ourselves and not shove our disapproval in each other's faces and leave everyone in peace! We're all gamers here, aren't we? So, why can't we all just get along?
Maybe, if we all learn to keep our mouths shut when a bunch of stupid c**p is about to come out of it, so will EA.
